Four trophy fish. One lake. Where else do you have the ability to catch four monster fish of different species? Many lakes brag about one or two big fish species, but Minnesota’s Lake Mille Lacs has the Fantastic Four—huge smallmouth bass, muskie, northern pike, and walleye. With plenty of room to grow in this 132,500-acre lake, the fish are there for the taking. Expert angler or not, there’s something for everyone on Lake Mille Lacs.

Small mouth, huge fish
Lake Mille Lacs is ranked sixth in the Top 10 Bass Lakes in the United States by Bassmaster. The lake is also the home of the 2016 and 2017 Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year Tournaments. “I’ve been to a lot of places, but Mille Lacs offers the best smallmouth fishing I’ve ever experienced. It’s like Disney World for fishermen!” said Drew Benton, the ninth-place finisher in the 2016 AOY tournament.

Muskie mayhem
Muskies were first stocked in Lake Mille Lacs in the 1970s and they have become a true success story. Muskies abound and their size is astounding. One recent catch—a 55-inch muskie with a 30-inch girth—was estimated at 60 pounds. “The Queen” was released and she is still out there for the next lucky muskie fisherman.

Big northern pike
If you want a lunker ready to fight, Lake Mille Lacs has enormous northern pike that will give you a memorable fish story. The fun of the lake’s big northerns is they provide an exciting fishing experience in all the fishing seasons—from summer angling to darkhouse spearing. Lake Mille Lacs’ northern pike are big, plentiful, and ready for action.
