For exciting bass action in summer, fish at night with a muskie-sized Jitterbug in black or frog finish. When a fish hits, though, be sure to strike back with a sideways and downward motion of the rod. That way, if you miss, the big plug won’t come sailing back in the blackness and hit you in the face.
