A “muskie save” is scheduled for this month at Shabbona Lake, Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. on May 24th.

Duane Landmeier heads up a local Illinois muskie group. Every year, Landmeier, his group, and other organizations and volunteers, net the muskies in spring that get into an overflow ditch next to Shabbona Lake and then return them into the main lake.

You can be among the first to get the latest info on where to go, what to use and how to use it!

Volunteers and individuals from fishing organizations are encouraged to help in this important muskie rescue.

Shabbona Lake is located west of Chicago, about 20 minutes south of DeKalb. Duane Landmeier can be contacted at 815-761-5182 for more information.
