Welcome back, to our second episode of the MidWest Outdoors Podcast…

On today’s show, we sit down with police officer, tournament angler, and hall of fame guide Tom Neustrom. One of the greatest jig fishermen in history, one of only four people inducted into both the Minnesota and National Fresh Water Fishing Halls of Fame… his is a fascinating story.

You can be among the first to get the latest info on where to go, what to use and how to use it!

If you haven’t read the beginning of our interview with Tom in the February, 2015 issue of MidWest Outdoors magazine, try to get your hands on a copy. As a police officer in the city of Chicago, his life took a dramatic turn when his partner was killed and he was nearly killed, both shot by a man pulled over for suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle. After somehow living through a touch-and-go night during which he was given last rites, and making a mostly full physical recovery, Neustrom’s spirit was called to a life in the Northwoods of Minnesota, splitting his time between patrolling Itasca County as a Sherrif’s Deputy and building a model second career as a guide and innovative fishing educator.
