The map above is based on state by state DNR data, showing the current state record for largemouth bass. As you can see from the map, it’s pretty obvious that if you want to go after the big fish, you have a better chance the further south you go.

Georgia has the largest state record largemouth at 22 lbs 4 oz, while Alaska has the smallest at just 0.5 lbs (largemouth bass are not native to Alaska).
The map was put together by the people over at www.boatsafe.com using state by state data from the Department of Natural Resources.
