Organized by the USA, the events are part of a series of free, community-based youth outreach activities underWork Boots on the Ground—the USA’s flagship conservation program. All youths must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or chaperone.
Why:
These family-friendly events are designed to spark a lifelong passion for the outdoors in youths. As today’s outdoor enthusiasts fuel billions in retail sales and contribute millions to conservation and wildlife management through federal excise taxes, the future of our outdoor heritage depends on engaging the next generation—now.
Take Kids Fishing Day offers hands-on activities that introduce children from all backgrounds to the wonders of nature, while spotlighting the powerful connection between outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship. It helps cultivate tomorrow’s conservation leaders by giving kids a meaningful start in the great outdoors.
