Premier Fly Fishing Show Rising in the Midwest
Home to the vast Great Lakes and Mississippi watersheds, the Midwest has earned a well-deserved reputation as a fly fishing mecca for those willing to probe its diverse pockets of holding water with the long rod.
Such an exceptional and diverse fly fishing region deserves an equally exceptional fly fishing show—a special location where enthusiasts, guides and industry representatives can gather to share fly fishing techniques and information on the latest gear, destinations, fly patterns and more.
That show is the all-new Great American Fly Fishing Expo in Indianapolis, Ind. The Expo will premier February 19 to 21 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds during opening weekend of the Ford Indianapolis Boat, Sport and Travel Show.
The three-day, fly fishing-only consumer show will attract and reel in fly fishing lifestyle enthusiasts with a tempting and artfully tied pattern of quality exhibitors, insightful seminars and other features. Crossover traffic with the Ford Indianapolis Boat, Sport and Travel Show will provide additional appeal and value, allowing consumers to set the hook on great fishing deals and information, and to visit exhibitors.
From manufacturers and retailers of the latest fly fishing rods, reels, boats, clothing, fly tying tools and materials and accessories to a who’s who of fly fishing guides, resorts, lodges and outfitters offering a full-range of angling adventures as well as exhibitors, the Expo will offer up a combination of gear and information fly anglers crave.
Experienced fly fishing guides from the Midwest will be on-hand, delivering riveting seminars and speaking one-on-one with attending fly anglers about catching steelhead, trout, smallmouths and largemouths, muskies, carp and more. There’s no guide fee required.
Grassroots conservation organizations will be at the event, and are tremendous resources for individuals and families looking to learn more about fly fishing. Several such clubs and organizations will also offer fly casting lessons and demonstrations at the fly casting ponds, as well as educational workshops on fish, habitat and other conservation topics.
Kids attending will be able to tie their own fly with the assistance of expert volunteers, then receive a special “fishing license” they can take to the trout pond and catch a fish on their very own fly.
Whether you’re a passionate fly fisherman, guide, club member, retailer, manufacturer or representative of the industry, make plans to cast a line into the fray at the inaugural Great American Fly Fishing Expo. You can learn more at renfroproductions.com.
